Heb 11:1 “Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title-deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality–faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses.” Amp

  1. Find your title-deed to the answer in God’s Word.
  2. A lawyer does not rest on the mercy of the court but on law. They need some proof that gives their client reason to prevail.
  3. Finding scriptures to form your evidence that God will grant you want you want is a foreign strange practice for many Christians.
    1. Normal. Pray that God will help and base it on his benevolence and on his will.
  4. Evidence—ground for belief.
  5. Dinosaurs museum.
  6. Proof—is evidence that is so complete and convincing as to put a conclusion beyond reasonable doubt.
    1. Proof is God’s Word.
  7. Hotel or Airline. Bring in the confirmation number and you get the hotel room.
  8. Story of Fort Worth trip and La Quinta.
  9. Once you have determined in your heart that you are going to overcome by the Word of God, the next step is to find in God’s Word the promise that answers your problem.
  10. Sold my van. Had the title.
  11. Detective snoop and search until they find the thing that they are looking for.
  12. We need to be like a detective, carefully searching God’s Word until we find sufficient evidence which our faith can be grounded in.

Rom 4:12

12 And he is also the father of the circumcised who not only are circumcised but who also walk in the footsteps of the faith that our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.

  1. We are to walk in the footsteps of Abraham. What makes Abraham’s faith distinct from other people’s faith.
    1. How did Abraham’s faith work?

Rom 4:18-21

18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”   19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead — since he was about a hundred years old — and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. 20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

  1. God makes promises; and we Amen the promises.

Ps 89:34

34 I will not violate my covenant

or alter what my lips have uttered.

  1. God is just and is a lawmaker, and thus, his nature does not allow Him to deceive us.

 

Gen 18:14

14 Is anything too hard for the Lord?

  1. Israel at first followed in the footsteps of Abraham.

Josh 23:14-15

You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed. 15 But just as every good promise of the Lord your God has come true,

  1. God keeps His promises.

2 Cor 1:20-21

 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

  1. Christianity is based on the legal covenant God made with Israel. He promised to send the Messiah, he fulfilled it, and now their are promises based on the covenant that we claim.
  2. “Claim” is a legal term. You make it based on what’s yours.
  3. Baggage claim ticket. You pick only your luggage.

John 15:7

 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

  1. Jesus tells u that when we have God’s word concerning our desire then we have what we asked of him.

 

Rom 15:8-9

8 For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs 9 so that the Gentiles may glorify God for his mercy,

  1. What has God promised?

1 John 2:25

25 And this is what he promised us — even eternal life.

  1. Lie: Great hope that I will, but it’s up to God.

Ex 23:25-26

25 Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, 26 and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.

  1. Truth: Health, guaranteed.

15        Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.

A. One of the first things to happen when you get serious about God’s Word is an increase in problems.

  1. Identify the problem
  2. Make a decision to overcome the problem God’s way.
  3. Find the Title deed to an answer in God’s Word.
  4. Hear the Word concerning your victory.
  5. Meditate the Word to get into your spirit.
  6. Speak the Word to cause it to come to pass
  7. Act on the Word.
  8. Apply the force of patience.
  9. Understand that there is an appointed time and a due season for your answer to come.
  10. Expect the answer.

A.    Satan is the problem.

Eph 6:12

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

1. Alcoholic husband is not the problem.

2. Calling fire down from heaven.

B.    Worrying over your children is the problem.

C.    YOU HAVE TO FIND WHICH MOUNTAIN IS            REALLY IN YOUR WAY.

D.    First step: Identify the problem

E.     Second step: Make a quality decision to overcome the problem God’s way.

 

1 Pet 4:15

15        If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler.

  1. Self-inflicted wounds.

A. Three biblical examples:

  1. “Tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

Luke 12:13

  1. Ahab, “You have brought trouble to Israel.”

  1. Achan, stealing devoted things from the Lord.

Josh 7:1

1But the Israelites acted unfaithfully in regard to the devoted things; Achan son of Carmi, the son of Zimri, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of them. So the LORD’s anger burned against Israel.

  3. Robbing God of tithes.

  5. Not nice to people. Not politics at work.

  7. Daughter accusing mother of being a witch. This was the reason nothing was going well for the daughter.

Deut 5:16

16 “Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

  1. Gluttony or high blood pressure.
  2. Lack of finances or laziness.
  3. Wife unhappy being stranded at her house.
  4. Depression or sin.
  5. Lack of the gifts or lack of the word?

 

James 1:5

5          If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

  1. When in a trial ask for wisdom to identify the real problem.

A.    One: Love walk with others.

B.    Two: Sin in your life.

C.    Three: Your mouth and negative mind.

D.    Four: Thorn in the flesh. “Walk independent of the circumstances.”

  1. Frustration. I see it on people’s faith. Their faith does not seem to be working. Don’t compare your faith with others.

Gal 6:4-5

4 Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else,

  1. Pastor’s wife died yet she appeared strong in faith.
  2. George Mueller never asked for money, yet ran his Ashley Down orphanage.
  3. Jerry Savelle stopped working for 3 months.
  4. Houston pastor did not sell his Cds and books.
  5. Personal relationship with God.

Rom 14:12

12 So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God

 

1 Cor 14:33

33        For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints,

1 Cor 14:40

40        But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.

“Everything” includes life of faith.

Col 2:5 “I am with you in spirit, joying and beholding your order and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.” KJV

  1. God is a God of order.

A.    Many people are not experiencing the promise benefits of faith, because many times they have never understood the divine order of faith.

B.    God’s heavenly kingdom is a place of order.

C.    Creation: simple to complex. From Chaos to Order.

D.    Cooking. Sequence.

E.     Quakers: Unpreprogammed friends meeting.

F.     God can still surprise you and awe you and still be in order.

G.    Grand Canyon, Sonia and I saw awed by the sunset.

H.    Old Testament presentation of an offering was done orderly—by procedure.

Lev 1:3-9

1. Male without defect

2. Entrance to the tent of meeting

3. Lay his hand on the head

4. Then slaughter

5. Aaron’s sons sprinkle blood against the altar

6. Skin the burnt offering

7. Cut in into pieces

8.     Put fire on the altar

Ordination of Aaron was orderly. See Lev 8.

D. Universe is orderly

E. Feeding of five thousand was done orderly

F. Turning of water into wine.

G. Wash in the poor of Siloam.

H. Before you can submit to the divine order of

faith, you need to have a good working understanding of            what faith is.

 

Rom 1:17

17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” 

  1. Just shall LIVE by faith.

A.    Not, “The righteous shall be made righteous by faith.” That’s a forgone conclusion.

B.    Why is it necessary to live by faith

John 16:33

33        “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

I Jn 5:4

4          for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

C.    Positive Psychology can’t make you overcome. Faith in God can.

 

Heb 11:1-6 v.1 KJV “Now faith is the substance (that which a thing consist or is made from) of things hope, the evidence of things not see.”

2 Cor 5:7 “Live by faith not by sight”

  1. Faith is the stuff the universe is made out of.

A. It is unseen material.

B. The universe is the product of faith-filled words

C. God was the first to operate by faith. Universe not seen.

D. God’s Word created everything.

E.     When you pick up the Bible, you hold in your hands the words that can produce healing, money, sound mind, marriage restoration, victory over any problem.

F.     Need for faith, because doubt was the nature of the fall.

 

  1. Identify the problem
  2. Make a decision to overcome the problem God’s way.
  3. Find the Title deed to an answer in God’s Word.
  4. Hear the Word concerning your victory.
  5. Meditate the Word to get into your spirit.
  6. Speak the Word to cause it to come to pass

7.     Act on the Word.

8.     Apply the force of patience.

9.     Understand that there is an appointed time and a due season for your answer to come.

10. Expect the answer.
