Phil 2:9-10

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place

and gave him the name that is above every name,

10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,

in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

  1. Receive one through bestowal.
  2. Inherit one through Birth. Prince George.
  3. Earn one through conquest and achievement. King David.
  4. Receive one through bestowal. Someone greater giving you their name. King giving his wife the title queen. Wife receives the name of the husband.
  5. Jesus obtained his great name all three ways.
  6. Virgin birth. JESUS
  7. Overcome sickness, sin and death,. CHRIST
  8. Exaltation and crowning in heaven. LORD

  10. Jesus name rules three worlds:
  11. Angels submit to the name.
  12. Men and circumstances submit to the name.
  13. Under the earth. Hell. Demons and the devil submit to the name.
  14. Whatever has a name is under the name of Jesus:
  15. Sin and addictions
  16. Sickness and disease
  17. Depression and fear
  18. Demons and the devil
  19. Poverty and lack
  20. His exaltation was not for His benefit but for ours.

Ep 1:22 “And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church.”

  1. Deity is behind the name of Jesus.
  2. The deity of the Man of Galilee is the crux of       If This can be successfully                                challenged, then Christianity has lost its heart and it will cease to function; it will become a dead religion.

 12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. Acts 8:4-7

 5 Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Christ there. 6 When the crowds heard Philip and saw the miraculous signs he did, they all paid close attention to what he said. 7 With shrieks, evil spirits came out of many, and many paralytics and cripples were healed.

Acts 8:12

12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ,

  1. Philip had great signs–healing and deliverance because he preached the name of Jesus.
  2. Satan hates sermons on the name of Jesus

Acts 4:18

18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.

  1. As far as the believer is concerned, the devil is defeated.

  3. Christ threefold victory over Satan.
  4. Christ defeated Satan in His earthly walk.

Mt 4:24 “…demon-possessed…”

  1. Christ defeated Satan in His substitutionary sacrifice. His victory over Satan was purely a substitionary act. Jesus vanquished Satan, not for Himself, but for man. His victory is our victory, for all that He did in substitution, He did for us.

1 Cor 2:8 “None of the rulers of this age…”

  1. Christ defeats Satan in the New Creation.

Co 1:13 “Translated out of the kingdom of…”

            Ac 26:18 “turn them from the power of Satan…”

            1 Jn 4:4 “greater is the one in you…”

           Ep 4:27 “do not give the devil a foothold”

           Jas 4:7 “resist the devil and he will flee”

  1. Redemption would mean very little if the believer did not have authority over Satan.
  2. Satan still rules the world.

2 Co 4:4 “god of this age…”

            Ep 2:2 “Prince of the power of the air”

  1. Satan’s only weapon he can use against the believer is deception.

Rev 20:3

3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations…

  1. Deceive—to mislead by a false appearance or statement.
  2. Sickness may appear to dominate you but it doesn’t. Healed by his stripes.
  3. Voices may seem real, but it is a lie.
  4. Depression may look oppressive, but you have the joy of the Lord.
  5. Fear may seem your lot, but you have the spirit of love, power and a sound mind.
  6. Curse may seem in formidable, but you are blessed of the Lord.
  7. Lack of money may seem like a mountain, but you have faith to move mountains.
  8. Addictions may seem uncontrollable, but you have the Spirit of Self Control.

6 Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

Acts 3:16

16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

  1. People struggle in receiving from God, because they are not aware of the power invested in the Name of Jesus.
  2. “Tom stretch out your hands. Whenever you lay hands on the sick in my name, I will lay hands on them with you.”
  3. Faith is an unconscious act, much like pushing an

elevator button. We are confident it will work.

  1. Shocked, only if it doesn’t work.
  2. Faith in the name & FAITH COMES THROUGH HIM.

 

Acts 16:18 “In the name of Jesus…come out of her”

  1. W. Kenyon was giving an address on the Name of Jesus when a lawyer interrupted, “Do you mean to say that Jesus gave us the power of attorney, the legal right to use his name.”
  2. We have the power of attorney. Power of Attorney is a legal agreement made by a person authorizing another to act in his place.
  3. Jesus gave the Church the right to use his name.

 

Isa 62:2

2 The nations will see your righteousness,

and all kings your glory;

you will be called by a new name

that the mouth of the Lord will bestow.    

  • Five uses of the name of Jesus. Prayer, combat, Healing, Infilling of the Spirit and Salvation.
  1. Prayer, Jn 16:23-24

26 Living Bible “Then you will present your petitions over my signature.”

  1. Jesus has signed the check, you simply

present it to the Father so that He can cash it.

Prayer is based purely on legal grounds.

 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons;

Police, Stop in the NAME OF THE LAW.

3. Healing,

they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

  1. Filling others with the Spirit,

Ac 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

  1. We are about to examine marvelous truths about the authority we have in the name of Jesus. These truths are almost beyond our capacity to grasp. But as we feed upon them, little by little they will become a part of our inner consciousness.
  2. The value of the power of attorney is dependant on  how much authority is behind the name.
  3. We much search to find how much authority and power is behind the name of Jesus.

Hab 2:3

3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time;

Though it linger, wait for it;

it will certainly come and will not delay.   

  • God is always on time.

 

  1. Some have God on their personal timetable. If he doesn’t come through when they think He needs to, they assume something must be wrong somewhere.
  2. God is not bound by our concepts of time.3 There is a time for everything,
  3. and a season for every activity under heaven:
  4. Eccl 3:1
  5. God’s time is the best time and the right time.

  7. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

  • Proper time. Means: “set time.” “Season”

 

  1. Seasons have fixed time, but the weather does not always follow the set time.
  2. Your duty during the waiting season is to “not become weary in doing good.
  3. He did NOT say, “Don’t stop doing good.” It’s about being “weary.”
  4. “Weary” means to “fail in heart.” You may go through the motions, but your heart is not in obeying God.
      1. Go to church, but heart is not in it.
      2. Volunteer
      3. Go to work
      4. Still married

2 Pet 3:9

9          The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

  • Understand that there is an appointed time and due season.

 

  1. Where the promises of God are concerned, it’s not a matter of “if” He’s going to come through, it’s only a matter of “When”.
  2. Actually, God is waiting on you.
      1. Waiting for you to rejoice;
      2. waiting for you to change;
      3. waiting for you to have hope. 4 When he heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” 5 Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 Yet when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days.

  • Story of Lazarus.
      1. Must declare the end from the beginning. “This sickness willl not end it death.”
      2. “God is coming through. God will not delay. I will reap at the proper time. My faith will be rewarded.”
      3. God’s perfect timing is meant to bring about His greater glory.
      4. God loves us even when it appears bad things are happening to us.Acts 3:5
      5. 5          So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.

  • Expect the Answer. Called hope.      20        I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

  • Sick person doesn’t stay away from a miracle service.
  • Unemployed person doesn’t stay home.
  • Single man doesn’t dress sloppily.

 

 

  1. Heavy person doesn’t throw away all the small clothes.

Develop the Force of Patience

Develop the Force of Patience

  1. Identify the problem
  2. Make a decision to overcome the problem God’s way.
  3. Find the Title deed to an answer in God’s Word.
  4. Hear the Word concerning your victory.
  5. Meditate the Word to get into your spirit.
  6. Speak the Word to cause it to come to pass
  7. Act on the Word.
  8. Apply the force of patience
  9. Understand that there is an appointed time and season for the answer.
  10. Expect the answer.

 

Heb 6:12

12        We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.

 

Heb 10:35-36

35        So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.

36        You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.

  1. Apply the pressure of patience.
  2. Patience is NOT putting up with the problem, or enduring something, or accepting the situation or resigning yourself to failure.
  3. Patience is a force that God has given us to change the problem.

James 5:11

11 As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about.

  1. God makes us wait because waiting produces maturity.

James 1:3

3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

  1. You cannot persevere without first rejoicing.

Rom 5:3-4

3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope.

1          Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

Eph 6:13-14

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then,

  1. Patience is the ability to remain constant.
  2. Patience is the ability to remain constant. Standing firm. Unchangeable.
  3. Since you are already rejoicing before persevering, you always look like you have the victory.
  4. Your stand should seem the same in the midst of suffering and trials and it does in the midst of healing and victory.
  5. How can you tell when the force of patience is not at work?
  6. Compromise lifestyle.
  7. Change the tithe.

“when you have done the will of God”

  1. Modify what you are believing God for.
  2. Not healing, but quick death.
  3. Complain. Change your confession of faith.
  4. It’s not fair that I still am single.
  5. Quit. Fear wins.
  6. Wrestling team at Eastwood. Coach worked us so hard so others would drop out.
  7. Quitting is not the same as discovering what you really want in life. I did Tennis then drama
  8. Stop mass mailing and shrink Yellow Pages.
